Mahmoud SaAdi, one of the founding fathers of the Moroccan music group Jil Jilala died Monday in Casablanca at the age of 63.

Jil Jilala was founded in September 1972. The group was named after Abdelkader Jilali, a Bagdad saint whose zaouïas were known for their opposition to oppression and injustice.
Jil Jilala was the main rival of another music legend: Nass el Ghiwane.
A committed musician, Mahmoud Saâdi was also known for supporting new talents such as Abdou Cherif.
